Art Project 2

In this project, we used chief hats that each had a form of art tools taped to the top of them. We then had music to dance to and draw to make it more fun. We then drew with the hats to make an abstracted image. It was very fun. Richard Capes has art similar to this being an abstract art piece. But he does not use the same tools as we do.

NO PARKING

In this picture my main figure is the "NO PARKING" sign. The ground for this photo is the ground itself and the trees behind. This photo is a good example of figure and ground. William Kentridge's photos are similar by that he uses a good figure and a good backround for his photos and in this photo I think they are both good.

Garbage

This photo was taken behind Wiest Hall. In this photo the figure is the dumpster and the ground is the dorm building and the other dumpster. William Kentridge's pictures are similar in a sense that he uses a backround that goes along with the figure he is expressing.

This picture was taken outside of Custer Hall. In this photo, the motorcycle is the figure of the whole piece. The ground for this piece is the building behind and the aspault below. William Kentridge's pieces are similar in a sense that he uses objects in his piece and this also used objects.

Questions for WOW project

The WOW project was a project for the Water Company to show people what we can do to keep our water clean and safe. We painted these large paintings of examples of what can happen if we keep doing what we are doing that hurts the water in our community.

My job was to help paint these paintings and add lines to the paintings for details.

What I learned from this project was mostly team work and what I can do for my community. If we did not have teamwork on this project the project might have not gotten done.

Construction Building

This image was taken outside Rarick in the construction zone.
The perpective in this photo is two point. One way is down towards teh trees and one is heading towards the building. This image is similar to Edward Ruscha's art because he uses alot of buildings in his photos that have either a one point perpective or a two point perspective.

The Sidewalk

This image was taken outside Rarick Hall looking down the side walk. It has a focal point of the street and a horizon line of the street curb. This image is similar to Richard Serra's art by having a sense of a focal point luring you into the image.

Dorm Hallway

This image was taken of my dorm room hall way. This shows a very good one point perspective. The focal point is the door at the end of the hall way and everything is pointing in that direction. This compared to Richard Serra's art has similarities of the 3D affect by grasping the person and pulling them in.

Salina was an awesome trip! We got to see inspiring artists that I have not seen before! The only thing I would change about that trip is the video we watched in the art gallary called "Smother". But it was very inspiring to see the work shop, it was really cool to see a real work shop. I was very interested in working in a place like that. The most inspiring artist was Andrea Fuhrman with her graffiti art. Her art was inspiring artist that don't get attention like they should by stamping parts of graffiti in her art. This trip was very inspiring.

Imprisoned

In this image the dog looks at a person seeming like she wants attention and love. The dog is connected to a tree so she can't feel that attention and love like being imprisoned. This image is similar to Albrecht Durer's also due to the animal in the image being the main point to the image.

Lonelyness

This photo was taken in front of Rarick Hall. The emotion potrayed in this image is lonelyness. The animal expresses being by himself with no one around to comfort him. In Albrecht Durer's drawings the artist uses some animals in her images to envoke emotion. This image is similar to one of her images called "Squirrels"

Curiosity

This image of my friend Sara Ellis, she is evoking joy and happiness. It shows the connection between to different species of nature, but they are in a sense of fun and curiosity for both of them. Albercht Durer's drawing are similar in a sense of she uses animals in her drawings and also people but not in the same drawing.

Thought

In this photo my friend Kelesy Spangler expresses her sense of deep thought in Custer Hall. I picked black and white because it gives it a sense of a thinking environment. This photo is similar to many of Kathe Kollowitz's photos by the show of a person showing an emotion in one place.

Freedom

This photo was taken on campus. In this photo the person expresses a sense of freedom being on a bike and just going with the flow. In this photo the color is very faded sensing that this type of freedom has been used for many years. The lines in the picture are straight, curved, and many other line jestures. Kathe Kollowitz's pictures are similar in the sense of emtion that the person is creating by loving what they do.

Connection

In this photo the black curves of the bike locks coexist with the curves behind them creating a 3D effect. The placement of the locks kinda shows a connection between the two locks in emotion to one another.
Kathe Kollowitz uses the emotion of two people in a couple of her pictures having a connection between them. The comparison would have to be the connection between the two locks being locked up and left behind.
